The Missing Diamond

Detective Max arrived at Holly's house. A valuable diamond was missing. He immediately sealed off the crime scene. He took out his magnifying glass to look for evidence.

On the floor, he found a clear footprint. It was very large. On the broken window, he found some fingerprints. "These are excellent clues," he thought. He carefully put them in an evidence bag.

Next, he interviewed a witness. The witness was a gardener. "I saw a man running away," the witness said. "He had curly black hair and a grey beard. He looked very frightened."

Max looked at his list of suspects. Thomas had curly black hair and a grey beard. Bob had short brown hair and a brown moustache. Their facial hair was completely different.

Max compared the footprint at the scene with Thomas's shoes. They were exactly the same size! The evidence was shocking, but the case was solved. Max used his handcuffs to arrest the suspect.
